Вопрос возник: А помните у Шефнера в "Лачуге должника" есть такая категория чудаков - "воисты" (сокращение от "Военные историки") - по нынешнему реконструкторы. Описаны с симпатией (хотя утрировано и с незлобоной иронией) и довольно сильно напоминают нынешний типаж завсегдатаев ВИФ и проч. "Лачуга" написана в 1977 году. Вопрос залу - Шефнер этот типаж выдумал из головы или тогда уже какое-то похожее явление было? |

"У птичек тоже самое" Сегодня у нас говорят, "всемирный день книги и авторского права". А я как раз сегодня вроде бы разобрался в давно интриговавшей меня истории: Как известно - одно из первых американское массовых изданий "Властелина колец" (150 000 экз) было "пиратским": известное издание Ace Books 1965 года:  Как гласит википедия: In the early 1960s Donald A. Wollheim, science fiction editor of the paperback publisher Ace Books, theorized that The Lord of the Rings was not protected in the United States under American copyright law because the U.S. hardcover edition had been bound from pages printed in the United Kingdom, with the original intention being for them to be printed in the British edition.[citation needed] Ace Books proceeded to publish an edition, unauthorized by Tolkien and without royalties to him. Tolkien took issue with this and quickly notified his fans of this objection.
