Who is the real enemy of a conscript? Here is how I see it:
For someone like me, both the community’s expectations and the trolls’ taunts feel like different flavors of conscription. I never volunteered to be a soldier in anyone’s war, but both “sides” demand me play that role. So when the “mobilization officers” (activist types) show up, they say:
And when the trolls show up, they say:
To me, both are intrusions. I just want to secure a private, livable identity — not to fight battles, not to rewrite society, not to be a mascot. Hope that helps explain my harshness. I perceive myself as being dragged into conflicts I didn’t sign up for, while already struggling with internal challenges. So instead of aligning with one camp, I lash out at both, because for a potential conscript, all armies are the enemies. ![]() |
