College students protest against the First Amendment
"use of nicknames," "hurtful words," "bias-fueled jokes,"
"comments on an individual's body or appearance,"
"innuendos of a sexual nature," "gender bias," и много

Several publicly called him on social media everything

from an "ignorant fuckhead" to "meninist scum" to "a stain
on the face of this campus." Private emails to him
included calls of "fuck you," "fuck off," and even "eat my
ass," according to screenshots provided to The College Fix.

Nesi Altaras, another student senator, said that "50

percent of students on this campus are not from America,
and there are other countries with free speech issues, and
some countries handle them better than America. I think
saying First Amendment rights, best kind of rights, is not

A group calling themselves the Amherst Uprising listed 11

demands they want enacted by next Wednesday. Among them is
a demand that President Biddy Martin issue a statement
saying that Amherst does 'not tolerate the actions of
student(s) who posted the 'All Lives Matter' posters, and
the 'Free Speech' posters,'"

Cal Poly Students Protest A Free Speech Wall for Having
Free Speech

Roughly 130 students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo protested a faux
Berlin Wall that was built to symbolize free speech.

As a part of Young America's Foundation's Freedom Week,
the Cal Poly College Republicans built the fake Berlin
Wall. It's a yearly tradition to build the wall and let it
stand for a week for students to write whatever they want
on it, and then tear it down to celebrate the actual
Berlin Wall coming down. Naturally, there is going to be
offensive speech on the wall since people can write
anonymously. This year, SLO Solidarity organized a rally
that resulted in two straight days of protest against the

The SLO Solidarity group, an informal assembly of multiple

minority clubs on campus, including the Queer Student
Union, Black Student Union and the feminist group Triota,
is seeking to push Cal Poly's administration to create a
more tolerant campus in the wake of the incident.

The protesters are calling for an online bias incident
reporting program that could hold groups accountable for
incidents of prejudice, possibly withholding funding for a
club or placing it on social probation. An in-person
reporting system for incidents of discrimination already
is in place on campus. University sanctions may be levied
against those who violate policy.
